Stephen Elliott Wins International Young Player of the Year

Congratulations to former Belvedere player Stephen Elliott ( Sunderland ) who was awarded the FAI / Eircom International Young Player of the Year at the Citywest Hotel on Sunday 27th February.

He was nominated for the Under 21 International Player of the Year Award at last year's ceremony, but missed out, so it was great to see him claim the International Young Player Award this year.

Stephen made his senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland against Croatia at Landsdowne Road on Tuesday 16th November 2004.

He scored the only goal of the match against Cyprus last October.

Stephen is in the squad for Ireland's home friendly international with Sweden next Wednesday 1st March 2006.
