2010 Gauteng Future Champions Tournament.  

The DDSL Under 16 squad traveled to South Africa on Saturday 23rd January to take part in the 2010 Gauteng Future Champions Tournament. Seven Belvedere players: Michael Barker, Patrick Seery, Hugh Douglas, James Kavanagh, Graham Burke, Chris Lyons and Craig Hanlon were among the18 players from the league given the opportunity to experience the trip of a lifetime.

The DDSL's opening match is against Chinese opponents Shandong Luheng on Monday 25th January. Next day they play local side Kaizer Chiefs. On Wednesday the DDSL will complete their group against another African side SAFA Thswane. The results from these matches will decide if the DDSL are to progress further in the Tournament.

The competition will be very demanding, with very hot conditions but, the squad is well prepared and no doubt will gave a very account of themselves.
