  • Season's Greetings
    May I take this opportunity, on behalf of Cork Orienteering Club, to wish you and your family a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.


  • Helpers Needed
    If you are interested in helping either on-the-day or leading up to an event, please contact any of the committee members.


  • Christmas Fun Event
    The annual Christmas Fun event will take place this year on the 27th December 1998 in Currabinny Wood, Carrigaline, Co. Cork. Expect the usual fun and frolics with an Orienteering slant!


  • New Years Day Walk
    The annual New Year's day walk will be in the Killarney Area. Several walks are being organised, catering for all. Please meet at Kay Kearney's Cottage, Gap of Dunloe at 11am on 1st January 1999.


  • New Fixtures List
    A new MOA fixture list is enclosed. It covers events up to August 1999 including the Interfirm League, which has been extended this year.


  • Annual General Meeting
    The club's AGM will be held in Creedon's Hotel, Inchigeela, Co. Cork on 24th Jan 1999 at 4pm. Orienteering training and walks will be arranged for midday. A meal (for approx. £10) will be available before the AGM.

    Provisional time Plan:
    Training/walks - 12pm
    Meal - 3pm
    AGM - 4pm



  • Membership Renewal for the 1998-99 Season
    Please find enclosed a membership form. Please fill it in and return it ASAP if you have not already done so.


  • Mapping
    As always mappers are urgently required for all types of maps. Contact either Bernard Creedon or John Muckian for details.


  • Cork-O on the Internet
    Watch out for the new Cork-O page on the Internet. Conor Creedon will be generating it.


  • Event Results
    Some of the Autumn event results are enclosed. Please contact Miriam on John if you need any other results.


  • TIO Magazine
    The TIO was not available before Christmas. It will be sent out when it arrives.


  • Highland '99
    The Scottish 6-day in 1999 will be held in Inverness. It will be run in conjunction with the 1999 World Championships. Many Cork-0 members will be travelling. If you need entry forms please contact John Muckian.
