CONFIRMATION: At the 6 p.m. Mass this weekend we will pray with the young people who are preparing for their Confirmation. The children will offer a short ritual on the theme of "Affirming our Baptism".

CHRISTMAS YOUTH2000 RETREAT: A National Youth 2000 Christmas Retreat for Young People aged 16-35 takes place at Newbridge College, from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st December. FEASTDAY OF ST. FINNIAN 12th DECEMBER - St. Finnian studied in Idrone (Co. Carlow) and later, in Wales and on his return he settled in Clonard, Co. Meath around 520, where he established a famous school. His pupils, among whom were Canice, Colum Cille and Brendan, were the initiators of the great monastic expansion in Ireland. He died in 549 and is remembered as tutor of the saints of Ireland.
