The Titanic Boys opened at the Grand Opera House, Belfast, on the 10th of August, 2012.

The play tells the story of the Guarantee Group, nine men who had played a major part in the building of the Titanic and who sailed on the maiden voyage as troubleshooters. It focuses primarily on the four young apprentices of the group, their lives, loves, aspirations and ultimate valour in the face of disaster.

Although the action moves through a multitude of locations we chose to anchor it within the ghostly confines of the Arral Gantry, the enormous structure that was erected at Harland & Wolff's shipyard to accommodate the construction of the Titanic and her sister ships. This facilitated the earlier scenes of the actual ship construction and in abstraction its walkways and towering pylons became the decks of the Titanic itself, both interior and exterior.

Large format animated projections were employed to underpin the passing of time and place.
