Irish High Crosses
Fennor Slane Situated in the Catholic Church in Slane, County Meath is a sandstone cross-head found buried in an old Churchyard at Fennor, Slane. This cross would have been similar in size to the cross at Duleek, also in County Meath. On presumably what would of been the west face pictured right, is a badly weathered crucifixtion scene with some unidentified figures on the right arm. I could not recommend a visit to this site as there are far better examples to be seen elsewhere. |
