Joust is a two-player board game using Chess Knights. I don't know its history - I first came across it as an Amiga version by Lunch-Time Software. A couple of years ago I did a PC version to teach myself C++ now comes the Zillions version to teach myself the ZRF language. I must admit this version was a bit easier!
To play Joust:
1. Run "Zillions of Games"
2. Choose "Open Game Rules..." from the File menu
3. Select "Joust.zrf" in the Open dialog & click "Open"
Alternatively you can double-click on the Joust.zrf file, or even just click here
The rules are simple: each player has one Knight. Click anywhere on the board to place them in random squares on their first ranks. White moves first, and any square a Knight was in is blocked forever. The Knights cannot capture each other. The object is to leave your opponent without a move.
(Just one thing - to move a piece, click on the square it's going to, not on the piece as in most Zillions games.)
While writing this I thought of (and incorporated) a variant - the Knights can capture each other. It makes quite a difference!
If zillions of games are still not enough for you, check out my shareware offerings at the Joust site, and my new site at http://bindweed.com
